Identification of mutations N501 and E484K in strains B.1.1.7., B.1.351, P.1 and B.1.525

The kit is designed for the simultaneous detection of SARS-CoV-2 N gene, N501Y and E484K mutations in the S gene.
It can be used to reconfirm a previously diagnosed SARS-CoV-2 positive case and also helps determine if the sample contains mutant strains B.1.1.7., B.1.351, B.1.525 or P.1.

Applicable sample type: oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal swab.

LoD: 400 copies/ml.
According to the WHO weekly epidemiological update on COVID-19, B.1.1.7. (UK), B.1.351 (South Africa), P.1. (Brazil) are listed as the main variants of concern. Among them B.1.1.7. it was approximately 70% more transmissible than the original strain. These variables also represent the majority of mutant strains worldwide E484K and N501 are the key mutations that help identify strains B.1.1.7., B.1.351, P.1
